Gluten Free Grandma Gravy

Here in the south, gravy is king and every grandma has their own twist. Read our recipe to see our take on this classic.


  • ¼ cup Liteful Foods Pancake Mix
  • 2 Tablespoons of butter, oil or desired fat
  • 2 cups of milk or stock
  • Seasoning to taste

Step 1

In a heavy sauce pan heat butter or oil and whisk in flour until a smooth roux is formed.

Step 2

Keep stirring the the roux and let simmer (DON'T OVERCOOK OR BURN) Pour in Milk or Stock and Bring to a simmer and let thicken.  If it’s to thick add more milk or stock.

Step 3

Season to taste with salt and pepper, cayenne, paprika, or sauteed jalapenos. Please share with us your favorite gravy variation and how you used it.
